National Photo Retailer: Data Automation, Printing, and Fulfillment
Challenge
This company needed a partner that could handle the fluctuating fulfillment requirements associated with daily customer orders. They turned to Quantum for a solution that would allow for fulfillment of highly dynamic and highly variable customer orders, and the production of materials.
Solution
Quantum Group developed an automated solution whereby data such as quantity, order contents and artwork, shipping address, and shipping method are provided by the client and ingested into our order management system.
This system assigns a location for order consolidation, moves PDFs, and enters them into our order management system. From here, our system creates imposed artwork and generates a production job. Orders are sent to the press which dynamically creates a banner page for each order with specific order information, thumbnail of the artwork, and the order consolidation location.
These different pieces flow through our production workflow (printing, finishing, and order consolidation). Once arriving at order consolidation, the finished goods are shrink-wrapped and scanned into a location. Once all the order’s items are scanned into a specific location, they are ready for final quality check and shipping.
